- The 33.6k ROM that's in the regular Sportster will not work in the
- Sportster Vi, but a 33.6k upgrade chip is now available for the
- Sportster Vi 28.8k from USR. The new Sportster Vi modems now available
- are 33.6k. Undoubtedly there are still some of the older 28.8k models
- on the shelves. The new 33.6k models that I've seen didn't say
- anything about the new speed on the box, but they did have "plug and
- play" stickers on them. The eighth digit of the serial number on the
- old 28.8k models is a zero (00028200xxxxxxxx), while the newer 33.6k
- models have a two as the eighth digit (00028202xxxxxxxx).
